This Privacy Policy sets forth the privacy practices carried out with respect to information accessible to Vulcan Materials Company and its affiliates and related entities (“Vulcan”) by your use of any Website that links to this policy, or of any pages, facilities, services, or capabilities accessible on or by any domain owned by Vulcan (each, a “Website”). If you do not agree to all of the terms, conditions, and practices set forth below, do not access any Vulcan Website or any of its pages. Use of a Website or any of its functions other than to view this Privacy Policy or the Terms and Conditions for the first time is an acceptance of the terms, conditions, and practices described in a Website Privacy Policy and in the Terms of Use.

1. Information Collection and Use
A Website is capable of collecting certain information about persons who access a Website or attempt to use its account functions. Types of information that are or may be collected by a Website, and uses of that information are set forth below. Vulcan is the sole owner of the information collected on a Website. To the extent that Vulcan provides access to this information to others, the parameters for disclosure are described in this statement. Vulcan collects information from our users at several different points on our Website. This Section 1 sets forth the types and sources of data collected, along with some specific uses of each type of data. Additional uses of data are described in Section 2.

  • a. Registration and Applications
    In all cases and for all users of a Website, a user must agree to a Website Privacy Policy and does so by voluntarily accessing the Website. In order to use some portions of a Website, a user may first need complete a registration form. During registration a user is required to give verifiable business contact and identity information. This information is used to establish the identity of account holders and will be retained. The information will, where possible, be confirmed by such methods as may be available to Vulcan from time to time, including those listed in the remainder of this Section 1. If you submit an application for a product, service, or information to us through any Website, Vulcan will collect and retain the content of the application that Vulcan receives, the email address from which it is sent, and our response.

  • b. Electronic Mail and Forms
    Transmission of email sent to us through our Website using our customer service web forms is “secure” by conventional industry standards; email otherwise sent by the Internet may not be secure. Please be aware that when you receive a receipt acknowledging your email, it means that the message has been routed into the Internet, and not that the message has been received by us. Vulcan may retain the content of any customer service web form or email that Vulcan receives, the email address from which it is sent, and our response. Content and other information related to e-mails sent by user to Vulcan may be used as testimonials or for other marketing purposes, except that no marketing communications unrelated to the subject matter of the submission will be sent to the e-mail address from which such e-mail or form is sent unless the user specifically elects to receive additional marketing materials or we obtain the e-mail address through another avenue that permits such use. In all cases, e-mail addresses may be compared to subscription or customer lists of Vulcan and its business partners.

  • c. Search Engine
    When a user performs a search on a search engine within a Website, Vulcan may collect information regarding the search query and topic to assess areas of interest to users of a Website in general. Such information is not tied to individual identities in any way except that the query (or a record of location of results for the query) may be maintained on the user’s computer by means of a cookie (see section 1.e below) for the conveniences of the user. As necessary to provide service, Vulcan also may record information for every search request (disassociated from personally identifiable information) and use that information to solve technical problems with the service and to calculate overall usage statistics.

  • d. Orders and Purchases
    Vulcan requests information from the user on order forms and financial applications. Here a user must provide identity information, contact data, shipping addresses, and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer’s orders. If Vulcan has trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user. This information may be retained for record keeping and legal purposes, but will not be shared with unaffiliated entities except to the extent necessary to process and ship the user’s order or to fill the application.

  • e. Cookies
    A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. A Website employs cookies, but will not use cookies to obtain data from your hard drive.   • g. Newsletter
    If a user wishes to subscribe to a newsletter of a Website, we ask for contact information such as name and email address.   • a. General
    We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.

  • b. Transaction Requirements
    We use outside shipping companies to ship orders, outside credit reporting agencies to assess requests for credit, and outside credit card processing companies to bill users for goods and services. Please be aware that Vulcan is not responsible for the terms of use or privacy practices of such other sites unless it is also a Website owned or controlled by Vulcan. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our Website and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This Website Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by a Website on the domains owned and controlled by Vulcan.

5. Security
Vulcan’s Websites take precautions to protect our users’ information. When a user submits sensitive information via a Website, the information is protected both online and off-line as set forth in this section. All requests for financial and business sensitive information (to the extent such sensitivity is known), and all responses in the normal course thereto are encrypted and protected with the SSL encryption software. You can confirm that pages are encrypted by viewing the lock icon on the bottom of most browsers. We also take the measures off-line to protect your financial and known business sensitive information as we use to protect our own such information.
